A critical and integral part of the Mental Health Reform initiative is the
need for secure data sharing. An information system that allows agencies
to collect not only client information, but also manage their organizations and
maximize resources. This system also needs to be able to share information
with other agencies and ensure confidentiality of client information.
The most powerful product on the market that meets all these requirements,
and more, is Client Services Manager (CSM). CSM collects and organizes
data about referrals, clients, programs, groups, and employees. It has 55 different
reports, including all those neccessary to fulfill the Ontario Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care reporting requirements. Additionally, the management reports
make it easy to see where your agency is spending its time and resources.

How many of you have spent countless, tedious hours sifting through data preparing your
Ministry Reports? We all know this takes a lot of time and resources, and the bad news
is, the Ministry requirements are not going to get any less demanding. In fact, the
requirements are changing again in Spring 2003. Those of you that already have a system
in place need to consider the additional development costs to modify your applications
when those reporting requirements change again next year (and again every year after
that).
When you use Client Services Manager you will always have an up-to-date version that
meets all the Ministry reporting requirements - at no additional cost. CSM is
continually updated in order to stay compliant with Ministry MIS guidelines. As well,
CSM has "One-Click Ministry Reporting", which means that all reports can be printed
with just one click of the mouse.

Service uniformity and data sharing are a central theme in Mental Health
Reform. Consumers are no longer considered a client of an agency but a client
of "The System". Collaboration and coordination among the various providers of
services and supports is extremely important.
Client Services Manager can share computerized records, within a district or region,
via a central data centre. Consumers can enter "The System" from any location and
the appropriate clinical information can be immediately accessible to other
authorized and appropriate parties. This eliminates duplication of records and
improves the quality of care and the ability to respond to consumer's needs. All
client information is shared in a secure manner where confidentiality can be assured.
